Its evolved behavior but why would that make it not special or significant? Who you love and falls in love with you is both special and significant to you, so what does it matter if it serves a biological survival need or not? I know that evolution is why I have sex with my wife, have had two kids with her, and feel the way I do about her, but that doesn't make me value less her reaction to the xmas present I've got lined up for her.
By default everything about us is do to evolution.
