Its not going to be for everyone, but I've never had to take cover in an MMO, and my FPS reflexes (which I'm pretty good with) do seem to help quite a bit. Something they didn't do much of in a MMO either.
I think the only reason they didn't make it a true FPS was due to lag limitations. All they would have to do is take out the ability to lock your target and bingo, its an fps. I rarely lock targets as it is, and using the shotgun is pretty much an fps as you can't lock with one.
