I often find that the most beautiful and inspiring lyrics are those that don't seem to be anything particularly special on their own - they don't bring you to any particular conclusion and yet through the ambiguity of the lyrics and the beauty of the music, you're pulled in and forced to look beyond the ambiguity of the words, assign them their significance and see a part of yourself reflected in the words of someone else.
Radiohead - Scatterbrain
I'm walking out in a force ten gale.
birds thrown around, bullets for hail.
the roof is pulling off by its fingernails.
your voice is rapping on my window sill
yesterday's headlines blown by the wind.
yesterday's people end up scatterbrain.
then any fool can easy pick a hole. (I only wish I could fall in)
a moving target in a firing range.
somewhere I'm not
scatterbrain.
somewhere I'm not
scatterbrain.
lightning fuse
powercut.
scatterbrain
