I remember a band night at uni where the girls just spontaneously started using the mens.
It's a bit of a shock when a girl wanders in behind you, but I quickly decided that it's no big deal. Standing at the urinal its not like they see much of us guys. And with the girls in the cubicles - we don't see much of them either.
Maybe this is the way to go - at least during busy times. After all, in private houses we all share common facilities.
