Hey, I've had blue hair before. That was fun. In fact before I did it blue I had the same design in black and after my highlights grow out I'm doin that again. Only problem I had was that I did get it done at a salon and it was semipermanent color so it washed into all my blonde hair and much more of it was blue than intended.

I was thinking about this the other day and while I too am a poor college student in a LDR I will be saving up some money and going to a salon to get my hair done. I have no coordination to do it myself and the one time I did it looked terrible and it was hard on my hair (very fine)
As far as the red thing goes, I've known a couple people with that problem and most of them said they fixed it with a deep brown over the red. Some of them looked damn good like that too.
