Editing file names or ID3 tags is a manual process. There are different tools out there to do but each has its pros and cons. Personally, I manually clean up all tags but it takes time.
I use
www.id3-tagit.de and used to use MP3 Tag Clinic. MP3 Tag Clinic was my favorite but it's buggy under 2000 and XP. EDIT: there is an update to MP3 Tag Clinic that may fix the bugs s I'm going back to using it.
