The setup: Tivo Series 2 DVR, separate combo DVD/VCR player/recorder
The problem: Some programs recorded onto TiVo from television are blocked from being copied to DVD.

These are not earth-shaking programs I'm talking about here, but mundane programs like old Dick Cavett interviews and stuff. Is there a way around this? Before I take the time to try this pain-in-the-ass manuever, would it work if I copied it from TiVo to VCR and then dubbed it from VCR to DVD? Or would I be blocked from copying it to VCR just like I am blocked from copying it to DVD?
