I also second going to the doctor. Growing up with two little brothers, taking one to the jewels is bound to happen. Fate caught up with me one day in the form of a foot colliding with considerable velocity. I was only 12 at the time and it took a day for the pain to outweigh the embarassment of showing my mom how bad things were downstairs.
As its been mentioned above, things can get "twisted up" for lack of a better term. And if you don't get them untangled, then its definetly not good.
