Good move. I've injured my shoulder a few times. Who knows exactly what - but it's touchy. The physios can normally get it back ok... but there're good physios and bad ones.. judge carefully.
(But their prescription can also be paradoxical which often doesn't help).
The way I see it is this...
1) If you have surgery, you'll need physio anyway.
2) If you have physio you might or might not improve - but you can always
get surgery later if needs be
3) The sports docs are very casual about surgery. Get a second opinion before
rushing into anything.
And finally, remember that a month or two off training is not the end of the world. Though it sometimes seems that way.
