Supraspinatus (Wikipedia). It's one of the 4 muscles that make up the rotator cuff, and the one that is most often injured. The only action it has is to abduct your arm at the shoulder joint. So, if you raise your arm starting at by-your-side and going to straight out to the side, that will likely hurt, but the same movement passively (someone moving it without your muscles assisting) will likely be pain-free. Also, it's only dominant in the first 10-15 degrees of motion from your side; the deltoid will take over after that.
Whatever it is, yeah, see the specialist. It'll depend on how badly it is torn as to how long it'll take.
