I think it is dangerous. As BBtB has said, you rarely see just innocent flirting. I mean, you will always check out attractive people, have fantasies etc, but starting to act on them, even online can get dangerous. For me, I fear that psychological affair more so than a physical affair, it's much more personal. Are you sure there is not some sort of issue, maybe burried underneath everything that may be causing you to want to search else where for some sort of companionship? It wouldn't mean you're not happy of course. I dunno, maybe it's something you could get your wife involved in and do as a couple? I think keeping secrets always leads to some sort of trouble down the line.
