1. Forget about losing weight.
2. Throw out those crappy old scales that you probably have away.
3. Get a tape measure and take some measurements.
4. Rely on these as your progress indicator, not how much you weigh.
5. You've put on weight because you used to do so much exercise and then you probably just stopped. Your body wasn't burning off all that excess energy you normally eat so it started storing it as fat.
6. Go through you cupboard and find that one item of clothing that you love but no longer fit into(everybody has at least one item).
7. Your goal is to fit into that clothing.
8. Buy some small plates/bowls and use those to serve your meals on. This will help reduce your calorie intake instantly.
9. You do NOT want to feel full. Start thinking of that full feeling as a "makes me fat" feeling. Eat 5 small meals a day and leave each meal with a "I could eat more but I'm not starving" feeling.
10. After eating a meal wait 20mins or so before deciding about how hungry you feel.
11. Keep doing the running. First thing in the morning before breakfast is the best time of day.
12. Be selfish about this lifestyle change! You are doing this for you, not for some girl or anyone else. YOU want to look in the mirror and like what YOU see.
Keep at it. It may be a long road and at times you will feel like you are going backwards rather than forwards. Just keep looking ahead and you'll get there!
