Not all, just some, and it depends on which birth control therapy you use (ring, pill, what kind of pill, etc). A good point, though, be sure to ask a pharmacist if anything you're prescribed will interact with the effectiveness of the birth control. They don't have volunteer that information, even if they HAVE that information.
And yeah, condom-free sex is where it's at- that's why relationships are so much better than hook-ups.
