Yeah, it would be nice if it were automated. Sadly, the journal feature is an add-on to vBulletin written by someone else, which makes it increasingly difficult to change how it works in any way. Halx didn't create the journal feature himself, and it would take a *ton* of work for him to figure this out, if it's even possible
It's not that no one cares, it's just that it's really complicated for anyone here to try and fix it
