I can recommend the French West Indies. Either Guadeloupe or Martinique.
Both are refined and elegant French colonies with a lot to offer. The food is fantastic and the whole atmosphere is very romantic. Its a lot less frenzied than the other islands as the tourists are largely French and tend to keep to themselves. It depends on whether you want a quiet romantic Honeymoon or you need to have 'entertainment' provided. It is very safe and there is lots to do and see, and the French government spend lavishly on the infrastructure as a great many civil servants retire there..! If you don't want to carry any money and you want your meals etc to be included, there is a Club Med hotel on both islands, both of which are excellent. Its like a trip to France but with sunshine, I have always found the local people friendly and less inclined to harass the tourists with the 'hard sell' so often found elsewhere in the Carribbean.
