The fact that the constitution acknowledges "almighty god" in the first place is in direct opposition to the concept of athiesm. A properly worded religious clause would say something along the lines of "complete religious freedom to worship or not according to one's own beliefs"

You're right ... I didn't notice that the preamble part was missing. I was just going by the thread title. Why was the TN constitution included in this thread?
I agree with you that ALL U.S. constitutions should be re-written to exclude acknowledgment of ANY deity. In other words, you have a right to worship anything you want ... or not. As you said.
The TN constitution does acknowledge Almighty God; but it goes on to say that no one can actually MAKE you worship.
