New Eclipses are getting terrible reviews, especially by Consumer Reports. I would stay away.

If you are looking for a sports car, the RX-8 isn't really that fast. I've heard it handles well, and "feels" like a sports car when you are in it, but it doesn't have enough power to make me consider it a nice purchase.

Any reason in particular you want an RX-8 or Eclipse?

If you want a nice bargain on a sports car, go for a 2005 GTO. 400 horsepower monster sled. I've found them in Virginia for $22,000 with <15,000 miles. Now that part is biased. I love the new GTOs (and am one of the few).
