It could mean any number of things. I'm gonna guess (due to lack of background) that it has something to do with saying one thing but seeming to mean or think something else. (Like coming home from work pissy, being mad, but nothing is wrong, though something obviously is.)
And, to take another approach, it means exactly what she said. Your wife says you don't communicate and you ask a message board, not her, what she means. (Hopefully this doesn't sound too harsh... not trying to judge or attack.)
