It's probably a stack running out of memory, either in the computer, or more likely, in the router or DSL modem.
Cybermike, when you reboot are you also rebooting the network equipment?
Are you running torrents or other P2P software? They can quickly exhaust the memory in consumer devices unless you tune the number of connections.
