You never know until you plug in the dates. Try many different dates and days of the week to see if there is a difference.
I flew from Seattle to London directly twice and that was a good flight. I don't like hopping to Chicago, then New York, then to London, just to save 100 bucks. I fly non-stop so there is less chance I will miss my connecting flight.
Another option for you is to get an airline miles credit card and make sure you can use the miles for international flights. Then use the credit card for absolutely everything in your life and rack up the freq flyer miles ! Then fly to Europe for free. Check all the fine print. I think Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines have good credit cards that my mom uses. They have never lied to her yet so so far so good.
