Yeah, i've never heard of a parent whose goal it wasn't that they wanted their kids to do better than them. If they look down on you in any way for doing better than them, then they're just falling victim to some nasty jealousy- either of you, or they hate themselves for not doing better than they did.
Either way, don't worry.
