		 4-5 pounds of green peanuts in shell 
4-6 quarts of water 
1 cup salt 
 
Wash the peanuts in cold water until the water runs clear.  
 
soak them in cold water for half an hour. 
 
Put 'em in a large pot, cover completely with water, cook 4-7 hours on high. Taste after 4 hours, then every 10 minutes after that until they're right. Drain them immediately after cooking.
