That's definitly waaay to hard, cause I can over power a drive in Wii Golf with a flick of my wrist. The Wii uses motion and acceleration to operate, not motion and speed. So far I've just got the sports disc to play, but its been awesome and very natural to use.

There are only three situations in which a non-defective strap can break and cause damage
1: You are trying to break it
2: You intentionally broke it and want to sue Nintendo
3: You are an idiot. Not your everyday mouth-breathing, slack-jawed moron. If you accidentally break it because you swung it too hard
and let go of it (I don't know how this could happen,) you should not leave your house unaccompanied and should wear a crash helmet for any activity more strenuous than sleeping. If you break a Wii strap unintentionally, you should automatically qualify for the Special Olympics.
If you're worried that your drunken idiot friends will break it, you can order the updated strap. I'm going to order one for each of my remotes, then experiment with the old straps and a force gauge in my school's physics lab to see just how much they can hold. I'm guessing upward of 30 pounds.
