The easiest thing I've found is not to get all wonky on diets or calorie intake or specific training plans and whatnot. Cut all unnecissary sugar out of your diet. Stop drinking soda and sweet tea, axe the candy, and skip dessert. I find that the more I eat sugar, the more I want it, and the less I eat sugar, the less I want it. Eating less sugar is a great way to cut calories by making a very small change in your diet. It also will probably help with your wierd hunger swings.
Next, go to the bookstore, look in the workout books, and find something that looks interesting that you can do at home. I like the Swiss Ball, but you might like pilates or even Sweatin' to the Oldies!
Also, you can be social and be "working out" too. Just take up something like ballroom dancing or volenteer for Habitat for Humanity- things that will get you up and moving around.
Easiest formula for losing weight ever comes from my husband- "Get off your ass and don't eat so damned much!" (I mean that to bring a smile to your face, not in assinine drill seargant style).
And, holy lord, if you're really 6'6"... tall men just start out being hot in my opnion. So remember that you're hot, and then do what you need to do in order to get even hotter!
ps- Pagin' Ch'i!
