I've always gotten the impression that Nintendo's main goal is to create *fun* games, while other companies seem to have that as a secondary priority. I also think that the new controllers coming out for the Wii have huge potential. They look very intuitive and -- say it with me -- fun.
The Wii will also come out with games you can enjoy. The new Zelda coupled with any Metroid Primes that come out will provide you with more adult gameplay you want.
I would go with the Wii, personally. But I'd want to see how it gets reviewed by the gaming gurus, first. I also don't really know whether they'll be available this Christmas...you never know how high the demand is.
