I like Phil. Yes, he's been a bit too commercial over the last 10 years, but he is a very talented guy and his studio stuff is quite excellent. I saw him in concert with Phillip Bailey about 12 years ago in Dallas and it was a great concert. Evceryone was on their feet dancing by the end of the show - no easy feat for that crowd!! I think he had big shoes to fill with Genesis when Peter Gabriel left. And in truth, I love much of Peter's work, too. Go seek some of his old stuff and enjoy. He's a musicians musician. I know from experience. Remember "Trick of the Tail"? Got me through those weird gnarly and wild late 70s and set several sychno beat tones in stride musically for world/beat internationally. When I party in Denmark, I always take Phil's stuff along and everyone loves to dance and enjoy the vibe.
