Kill him with kindness.... or just kill him. Easier to just ignore him though. People suck. Simple fact of life, and people like this, well, they are really not worth the time to deal with. If he's around, then talk tot he people you want to talk to, and minimize your comments to him to what is needed, and make it clear that if it's a shindig you are throwing, he is not invited. If the rest of them can't deal with that, then take a deep breath, say "fuck it", and find people worth knowing.
