Are you going to look for work right away?
If I got let go from my current position, I'd be very disappointed. However, eventually I'll have to quit, and the reason would probably be a real job (right now I'm in school full-time).
Do you need to find any job you can to pay the bills?
Were I lose my job, yes.
Would you apply for jobs in a different city than the one you live in now?
Once I'm done with school and looking for a real job, yes, mostly because I love where I live but I'm tired of it.
Do you think you would ever want to start your own business?
Yes. I'd like to own a bookshop and cafe someday. Or a bed and breakfast.
Would you want to take 3, 6, 12 months off to travel the world?
If I had the time, yes. I've seen a great deal of the United States. I'd like to see other places for a change.
Would you just take a few months off to unwind?
If I had the money, maybe. I'm not really good at working in high-stress environments. It fucks my body up too much.
Would you stay home and watch your kid(s) instead of sending them to day care?
Absolutely. Having worked in daycare...no thanks. I won't be sending my child there if I can help it.
Do you have enough saved up to retire?
Well, I'm 24. Retirement is not really something on my mind at this point, but I do plan on starting an IRA once I get a real job, and since I'm going into teaching, I'll have state retirement benefits.
Have you ever thought about it or have some other idea planned?
Yes, I've thought about it, because my dad turns 59 and a half in six days and can finally get into his IRA. The amount of money he has saved in there is insane, plus he has an annuity through the state retirement system, and state retirement benefits due to him once he does retire. I hope to be on as good or better footing than that when I get close to retirement.
