Vote fraud has been part of the American landscape since voting began. Being in chicago and knowning some of the politico types I have first hand stories of vote fraud, enough to change election out comes. Its an open secret that in 1960 Daley 'found' the votes needed to elect JFK (though obviously before my time).
So the question isn't are the new machine secure, but are they more secure than the methods in the past.
Personally I think the first fraud will not be someone trying to fix an election with an electronic machine, but someone trying to make it look like it was fixed in order to cast doubt on an election. Rig a machine or two and then annonymously report it. Since the public is primed to turn against electronic machines, its not very far fetched.
Of course if the potential for fraud with electronic voting scares you, just think if the online voting concept some are pushing for becomes a reality.
