Two important qualities every doctor should have
"In medicine, it is necessary to have two very important qualities as a doctor." the professor said to his first-year medical students as he threw back the white sheet uncovering the cadaver on the table. "The first is that you must not be disgusted by anything involving the human body."
With a practiced motion the professor leaned over, stuck his finger up the dead man's anus, withdrew and appeared to suck on it for the briefest of moments. "Go ahead." he said, "you give it a shot."
The students were understandably freaked out a bit and it took several urgings and more than few glares from the professor to get the students moving. Eventually though, every student made his or her way to the front of the crowd, stuck their index finger up the dead man's anus, withdrew it and sucked on it for the briefest of moments.
When everyone in the class had finished, the professor stood before them with a slightly bemused look on his face. "The second most important quality is observation. If you had been paying attention you would have noticed that although it was my middle finger I stuck in, it was my index finger I was sucking on. Now pay attention!"
