My wife is one of these silent ones - it is still bleeding obvious to me (now that I know her better) when she is pissed off. And she is becoming a better communicator but still needs prodding at times. This in itself shouldn't be a showstopper, though it seems to be this girl's smallest issue.
I would also add a vote for dump her...
