Assuming that you've kept detailed notes of all contact with these fleecers, turn it over to your state Attorney General's office.
The local news channels also like to get involved in these type of scams. They especially like it when the scammers are targeting the elderly, or the disabled.
In the meantime, just keep doing what you're doing. Give them absolutely no information. And it wouldn't be over cautious at all to be checking your credit reports.
