Easier than counting. I mark my calender with a small circle that has my first initial inside. I put it discretely in the corner of the day I begin my period. Since I know when my next period will be I'll count and mark the pending day with the same mark. Until I figured out when it was I just simply put a mark on the day I began. It's an easy way of keeping track and nobody else knows what the mark is. The initials thing, was what we started when I lived at home and Mom did the same thing. We didn't get mixed up as to who's mark it was cause our initials were different.
