I took the real IQ test back in highschool for my AP psychology course. We were talking about different types of intelligence.
I scored a 187 on the IQ test, but then we played a memory game. Interestingly enough, it was an aboslutely perfect example.
Those that scored lower on the standard IQ test did exceptionally well in the memory game, I had the highest IQ - according to the test - in the class, and I did absolutely the worst. In fact, it was excactly the opposite - person by person. The person that scored 2nd in the IQ test was eliminated 2nd from the memory game, etc. I would attribute it possibly to the class inadvertantly swinging the results, but we didn't know the scores of the IQ test when we played the memory game....
I think the IQ test is good for measuring a specific type of intelligence, but so are other tests. I suppose it depends on what type of intelligence you are looking for...
