me, too. i started downloading tab off of olga.net about 7 yrs ago.
just look up artists whose songs you know well & work your way through the chord progressions. for me it was old who & stones songs that are hard wired in my brain. makes it alot easier to learn them, because you KNOW where all the changes are. as you progress, you'll find tabs that show you how to do the hammer-ons, pull-offs, & riffs that give songs more color. use the chord dictionaries for weird shit like G#m7-5, blah blah
as spectre noted, there is a huge variation in quality of tabs out there, though. some are posted by people who apparently are playing on banjo or dulcimer or something, or are just plain wrong. others are so deep as to be indecipherable (see tool, yngwie (?)). if i hear a song on the radio i want to learn, i just do a google search for that band's tab. the search will give up about 10 sites to pick from, with a lot of redundancy, but i can usually find something close to what the song sound like.
