Moose, it's not that version numbers are always critical, but it just saves time. "Latest" may mean the newer 84.25 beta, may mean you're using tweaked NGO/Omega versions, etc. Who knows, there may be a new new release the day after your post throwing relative terms into the weeds. Unlikely, but make sure DirectX acceleration is enabled for DirectDraw, Direct3D, and AGP Texture Acceleration. I think 3dmark would complain if any weren't.
After that I'd be thinking about the motherboard BIOS and settings again. I notice the ASUS released a BIOS in December of last year. It isn't uncommon for these to address AGP compatibility issues. New video card, 3yr old SiS AGP chipset, ...
