I'm going to have to agree with the no purse rule. I always wear pants with pockets..all I take to a club is cash, my ID, and maybe a chapstick.
I would highly advise not going to a club alone. It's safer and much more fun to go with friends.
As for dancing, don't worry how you look. Just move to the music, and you'll be fine. Or ask a girlfriend how she does it before you go.
