Some clubs have check-in desks / people who will check your coat and/or valuables (some are coat only). And, they either charge you up front some amount like $3 (in SF), or you have to tip them something when you get your stuff back (or they just ask for $1 when you get your stuff back).
If you are a girl, all you have to do is move your hips around like Suave said and you will look damn good dancing. Not so easy for guys, dunno why girls can move a little but look good; guess you guys are more curvy.
