Another thing you can try, if it really is just a case of the window being moved offscreen:
-Right click on the My Computer button in the taskbar after you try opening it
-Using your arrow keys, and not the mouse, press down until you get to 'Move' and press enter
-Look for your mouse. Where is it? If it is all the way to the left, press the right arrow key to move the window to the right. If it is all the way to the top, press the down arrow key to move it down. The window should move into view.
-After moving it around, press Enter again and you can stop moving the window around
