CAA: Climbing Addicts Anonymous...
Anyone else out there a climber?
Some people call it a sport, but I think it's more of an addiction. At first, I only climbed every once in a while. Then, I started climbing every week, and it escalated to two or more times a week. Then my friend stopped going that often, and I lost my ride.
That's when the withdrawl symptoms began to kick in. I find myself climbing anything that I can find... trees, buildings, stair railings, whatever I can use.
After a few hours of climbing, your hands are killing you. Sometimes, I climb until I rip the skin off of my fingers from grabbing the rocks. Then I usually tape up my hands and keep going. I guess it just brings out the masochist in me. I get such a high (no pun intended) off climbing, I usually don't really notice the pain until later.
Am I just that wierd, or are there other people out there who are similarly addicted to rock climbing?
