w00h00, my second favorite group have finally released their new cd this Tuesday, self titled.
Antagony told me he was dissapointed with it in the first listen (i've not talked to him since. and no not cuz he didn't like the cd
but i thought it was okay. well, i've listened to it three times now and i love it.
am I biased? i try not to be, but i'd be lying if i said i was not. but really, i love it.
the thing about the Deftones is it gives off the raw, intense controlled chaos that most of your harder edge metal has without sounding like he's a demon in a bad b movie.
no offense to heavy, heavy metal fans. but after hearing the growling voices for three or more songs i get bored and annoyed quick,
the deftones often plays music as heavy (not the same, but close) to some death metal and thrash and it sounds good. its still a lot of yelling and Chingo can fuckin SQUEEL but it... it has a neat rythem to me.
anyhow..... if you liked Adrenaline you will probably like Deftones. but if you know them like I do you realize every one of their lps sound very different with a raw controlled chaos at all times.
