When you have a serious need (and the Texans, for one, don't at RB), and a good enough player is available, you take them.

I agree, I would be willing to be bet, percentage wise, for every Tony Mandarich there is a Ki-Jana Carter and for every Anthony Munoz there is a Barry Sanders. If I were Houston and had the #1 or #2 pick I would trade down, take D'Brickshaw Ferguson and gain other picks in the trade to build from. Look at how the Chargers traded the #1 pick that the Falcons used on Michael Vick and picked up LT and other picks. I think that arguably that trade should be considered as worked out better for San Diego.
