We had absolutely no problem going from one to the other. In fact, he slept better in his crib than in his bassinette. The bassinet rocked, and everytime he stirred or flinched (due to the "Moro Reflex") he would wake himself up. Not so in the crib.
As long as the environment where the crib (cot?) is, is the same, you shouldn't have much to worry about.
