I guess I could agree with you on that the free agent market has many questions about health and ability...

However, Toronto at least made a statement that they are willing to do all and beyond to put their team into contention... whether this is wise, we will see...

Its like the Mets last year.. They offered both Pedro and Beltran generous offers to pursuade them, and while Beltran wasnt amazing, Pedro was a great catch... The signings made the Mets no longer a punchline in NY, and gave them some "cred" and has allowed them to approach other high profile players in getting them to come to the Mets..

I personally think the Orioles cant sit to give similar offers to players that other teams like the Red Sox and Cardinals give, they need to draw the big names, even if it means overpaying, to give themselves more respect in the future..
