The PC speaker works fine.
It will make a warning noise on the first board if there is no memory on the board.
Everything is disconnected, harddrives, CDdrives, USB, whatever.
I'll hopefully borrow my friend's PSU tester today.
If the video card were fried would the MB make some sort of warning noise? Maybe if it's partially fried, it works just enough to lock everything up.
I don't know the MB model numbers off the top of my head.
The first one is an ASUS A7V880.
The other an ABIT NF7-something
Using an Athlon XP mobile, overclocked to 2.4Ghz. Stress tested well, but I always questioned the quality of power from the PSU.
The other CPU I tested with was an overclocked Duron (some crazy thing were you can use pencil graphite to change the clock speed.)
Anyway, I'll let you know what happens. There's basically nothing I haven't tried with the stuff I have on hand. I have an old videocard that's made to run at a lower voltage, but I might just try it and see if anything happens.
