Santa Clause is based on
Saint Nicholas. Saint Nicholas, though born in Turkey, was caucasian. I have no problem with the man in the suit being portreyed as a different race, but he originally was white (with a tan).
It probably was a pc choice based on complaints and threatened lawsuits by not-so-colorblind people.
