Not to be an ass or anything, but I think it's a miracle she made it that far.

Most schools in the Toronto (Ontario) area, and I am sure in Quebec have a peanut free policy. As parents, we are not supposed to send the kids to school with any peanut products. Not that that is fool proof, older kids often go to the store at lunch time and eat chocolate bars (for example Reeses Peanut Butter cups).
But it is conceivable to go through school well protected. Plus, at risk kids are identified to the school staff, and they have epi-pens at the ready for the teachers that have to deal with it.
