I've seen posts with several high resolution photographs that attempted to kill my machine loading the first time and I been hesitant to reply because I didn't want to endure that a second. Sure thing. AJAX would get rid of most of that. In that case, the images probably wouldn't have been reloaded because most browsers cache them for that reason, but yes, in any case, AJAX would have prevented that.
