I believe first cousins have a 1% chance to have a birth defect as a result of pregnancy.
First cousins, depending on your family, would probably be really weird if they got together.
2nd cousins may be the grey area, I've seen most of my 2nd cousins maybe 3 times in my 21 years.
I don't even know any of my 3rd cousins.
I'd say 3rd on out should be completely socially acceptable, 2nd is iffy depending on your family, and 1st would be really weird, but still legal.
