So that just about covers all the situations (leaving gun stores or sellers as the last source).
Maybe we can add to the answers, the reasoning for transporting the gun in the car. Is it for travelling to hunting or gun ranges? or is an everyday companion (and why).
Just curious as to the motivation. I never considered it until now.
